EXPERIENCE

Ekta Patel joined Bain Capital in 2025. She is a Director on the Real Estate team focused on retail asset management.

Prior to joining Bain Capital, Ekta was a Vice President at AEW Capital Management, where she led a team of retail asset management specialists and was personally responsible for a portfolio of over 3 million square feet of open-air retail centers. At AEW, she led value-enhancement strategies, executed complex dispositions, and managed joint venture relationships, leasing initiatives, redevelopment projects, and refinancing activities.

Before AEW, Ekta held senior associate roles at Brookfield Properties and Brookfield Asset Management. At Brookfield, she covered NYC-based retail assets and earlier, supported global fundraising efforts for real estate funds totaling more than $20 billion in commitments. She began her career at Citigroup in investment banking and credit portfolio management.

EDUCATION

Ekta holds a MS in Real Estate with a focus on Finance and Investment from New York University and a BS in Mathematics of Finance and Risk Management from the University of Michigan.
