Experience:
Mr. Butler joined Bain Capital in 2011 as Associate General Counsel. Prior to joining Bain Capital, Mr. Butler worked with the legal team at TPG-Axon Capital in New York and London and assisted in a range of matters including transaction structuring, securities law, and general compliance. Prior to TPG-Axon, Mr. Butler worked as an Associate at the law firm of Ropes & Gray, in their New York office, and before that, as a technology consultant. He is licensed to practice law in New York and Massachusetts.
Education:
Mr. Butler received an MBA from the Judge School of Business at Cambridge University in the UK. He received his JD and his LLM in Tax from New York University Law School. Mr. Butler received degrees in English and American Studies, with Distinction in All Subjects, from Cornell University.
