Bain Capital continues support of the Boston Public Library Foundation with contribution to its Central Library Renovation Campaign Jeff Hawkins, Managing Director at Sankaty Advisors and Chairman, BPLF Board of Directors speaks during the reception

Bain Capital Community Partnership (BCCP) recently donated $200,000 to the Boston Public Library Foundation’s Central Library Renovation Campaign, which to date has raised more than $1.3 million from individual donors and private foundations. BCCP’s funds will go to support new program and technology staff positions that will enable the Library to provide fun and innovative services to kids and teens.

On March 13, the Boston Public Library Foundation (BPLF) held a reception in the Children’s Library to celebrate the completion of the first phase of the Central Library Renovation. Jeff Hawkins, Managing Director at Bain Capital Credit and Chairman of the BPLF Board of Directors, spoke about the transformative impact the campaign and renovation will have on the local community.

"The funds raised by the Boston Public Library Foundation will transform programs, services, and provide additional staff in these exciting new spaces for Boston’s young people," said Jeff. "Hundreds of creative, thematic, series-based programs for youth from birth through high school focused on arts, literacy, science, and technology will be planned."

Bain Capital has supported the BPLF since 2001, donating funds annually through the Bain Capital Children's Charity to support programs for youth at the Boston Public Library. The BPLF is a partner of the Boston Public Library and encourages philanthropy at all levels to help the library achieve its goals.
