Bain Capital Europe Day, a Fundraising Success

The 2017 Bain Capital Europe Day Fundraising appeal was extraordinary. The chosen charity was CW+, the charity for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and its two hospitals - Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital. CW+ is currently raising funds for a burn unit, which will be shared with the ICU and which will include climate-controlled and pressurised isolation rooms.

Bain Capital was able to raise £55,000, which is the biggest fundraiser since Bain Capital opened its doors in London in 2000. CW+ had an anonymous donor who was matching all fundraising efforts, so our total came to £111,000!

The burn unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital has been involved with helping victims of the recent Parsons Green attack, Westminster attack and those that were affected by the Grenfell Tower Fire, which cost 71 people their lives and has left hundreds homeless. This unit has also personally touched Bain Capital as one of our colleagues from the Europe Office’s 9 month old son suffered 1st degree burns on his face, neck & arm due to an unfortunate accident at home and needed treatment. Needless to say, we are thrilled to report that the young boy has now fully recovered, and due to a skin graft no visible scars are left.

We are extremely grateful for the generosity of all Bain Capital Europe staff, the Bain Capital Europe MDs who kindly doubled the donations, and the Bain Capital Europe Co-Heads together with Dwight Poler who doubled the giving yet again. What an extraordinary outcome! THANK YOU!
