Josh Bekenstein Receives Good Guys Award from Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus

On Thursday, May 3, the Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus hosted the 17th Annual Good Guys Awards in honor of outstanding male leaders who have worked in their personal, professional, and civic lives to achieve parity for women.

This year, Josh Bekenstein was presented with the Good Guys Award in recognition of his involvement in a number of charitable and civic activities.  Currently, outside of his Bain Capital work, Josh chairs the board of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute where he has been a key driver in the effort to recruit DFCI's first female president, Laurie Glimcher, as well as continue the effort to diversify the Board of Trustees by adding talented women and people of color. DFCI is committed to providing adults and children with cancer with the best treatment available today while developing cures through cutting-edge research.

Josh also serves on the boards of Yale University, New Profit and City Year.  Among the other organizations Josh and his wife Anita support is Upstream, USA, an organization focused on helping women receive high-quality health and contraceptive services to reduce unplanned pregnancies and improve economic outcomes for mothers and their children.

Nancy Lotane was there to introduce Josh who was also joined at the dinner by Anita and several of his colleagues from Bain Capital.

The Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus is a nonpartisan 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that seeks to increase the civic engagement and empowerment of women of all ages in the political process and to increase the number of women elected and appointed to public office and public policy positions in the Commonwealth.
