On June 14, the Art Resource Collaborative for Kids (ARCK) held a mural unveiling across the street from Fenway Park in Boston. The mural was co-created by middle schoolers from Gardner Pilot Academy in Allston, ARCK’s teaching artists, interns, and professional artist Mark Cooper. Entitled “I Am, We Are,” the multi-panel, 48-foot mural showcases the students’ creativity and is a visual representation of ARCK’s mission to provide high-quality arts education programs in Boston public schools that otherwise would be eliminated due to a lack of funding.

Executive Assistant Randa Milosavljevic, who sits on the ARCK host committee, was joined by Bain Capital SVP of Communications Ernie Anguilla at the event and both were honored to see Bain Capital Community Partnership (BCCP) showcased prominently next to the completed mural. BCCP was the lead sponsor on this project, which is a landmark achievement for ARCK and has put the organization on the map in a very public way.

Boston Mayor Martin Walsh also attended the event, and he thanked all ARCK supporters for helping the organization take the next step toward making an even greater impact at underfunded schools in Boston.

ARCK uses art as a vehicle to unlock creativity and academic potential. Its programs extend beyond art teaching to promote skills such as empathy, self-confidence, problem solving and global awareness.
