Bain Capital supports City Year Boston’s annual Starry Starry Night Gala Jonathan Lavine addresses the crowd at the Starry Starry Night Gala

On Thursday, May 26, more than 20 Bain Capital employees joined City Year corps members and supporters at the 26th annual City Year Boston Starry Starry Night Gala at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center in Boston, MA. Billed as a celebration of City Year's "belief in the power of young people," the event featured Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington as keynote speaker. Bain Capital Co-Managing Partner, Bain Capital Credit Chief Investment Officer and City Year Board of Trustees Chair Jonathan Lavine provided introductory remarks at the gala, where he stressed the importance of ensuring that every community has a great public school to promote quality education across the nation.

"The Starry Starry Night Gala was a wonderful evening," Bain Capital Marketing Associate Elizabeth Dudley said. "Having the opportunity to hear from not only leading philanthropists like Arianna and Jonathan, but also from City Year corps members, really drove home the impact that City Year has in both the local Boston community and across the country."

"Turning from a go-getter to a go-giver is transformational," added Ms. Huffington in her remarks. "Giving and empathy are the third metric to a happy life…they're what transform us as humans."
