Liam's Lucky Charms and the Bike MS: Cape Cod Getaway 2016 Bain Capital employees, family members and friends participated in the Bike MS Cape Cod Getaway on June 25-26, 2016

On June 25 and 26, 22 Bain Capital employees joined more than 2,000 riders for the 32nd Annual Bike MS: Cape Cod Getaway 2016. Tackling the two-day, 150-mile journey from Boston to Provincetown, team Bain Capital rode in support of Liam's Lucky Charms for the ninth consecutive year, raising funds to help the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society of America create a world free of MS.

Liam's Lucky Charms, founded by Bain Capital Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller Liam Kennedy, once again paced the fundraising field, having raised nearly $360,000 to date. In total, the Liam's Lucky Charms' team's efforts comprise approximately 14% of the $2,484,530 raised in 2016 to aid the fight against MS.

Beginning on the morning of Saturday, June 25, the cyclists biked from Quincy through the coastal towns of Massachusetts' South Shore to Cape Cod, ending the first leg at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Bourne, where the riders were welcomed with music and refreshments. Climbing back aboard their bikes early Sunday morning, the riders then peddled across the Bourne Bridge and along the gorgeous Cape Cod coast as they made their way towards the finish line in Provincetown, where they had the chance to socialize and celebrate their achievements before boarding a party boat back to Boston.

"As I do every year, I'd like to thank all of the riders, volunteers, sponsors and donors who helped make the 32ndAnnual Cape Cod Getaway another resounding success," said Liam. "It's inspiring to see new faces join longtime supporters every year, and this year's outstanding fundraising results have brought us that much closer to a world free of MS."

Since its inaugural year, Liam's Lucky Charms has raised more than $1.9 million and has gone from 15 riders to more than 150.

Leading up to this year's ride, Bain Capital employees participated in a number of fundraising events, including the annual fundraiser at Ned Devine's, a pub crawl and the annual Cornhole tournament. Hundreds of Liam's Lucky Charms supporters came out to raise funds for the team and help make this year's Cape Cod Getaway the most successful to date.
