Mr. Roy joined Bain Capital in 2018 as part of Bain Capital Real Estate’s founding team. Prior to joining Bain Capital, Mr. Roy was a Senior Vice President in Harvard Management Company’s (HMC) Real Estate Investment Group where he was responsible for managing the accounting group which included overseeing activities related to portfolio, joint venture and property accounting; investment and debt valuations; budgeting; forecasting; internal controls; internal and external auditing; and internal and external financial reporting.
Prior to joining HMC in 2016, Mr. Roy was a Vice President and Director at Guggenheim Real Estate where he was responsible for financial reporting and performance, the quarterly property and debt valuation process, treasury management, and overseeing and implementing policies and procedures for joint venture partners and third-party managers regarding investment level management and reporting. In addition, he was involved in deal underwriting and structuring to ensure REIT compliance and identified UBTI considerations. From 2003 to 2010, Mr. Roy worked for KPMG LLP, in its audit practice focusing primarily on open end real estate funds and full service real estate companies.
Mr. Roy graduated from University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a BBA and a MSc in Accounting. He is also a certified public accountant.
