Experience

Ben joined Bain Capital Ventures in 2004 and leads our infrastructure software team.

Prior to joining Bain Capital Ventures, Ben was an SVP at VERITAS Software which acquired his previous company, Precise Software Solutions. At Precise, Ben served as COO & CFO and helped grow revenue from $10 million to $100 million prior to going public and being acquired by VERITAS Software for $640 million. Earlier in his career, Ben was an investor at Allied Capital, at which he focused on business services, industrial, and health care sectors.

Ben received the “Exceptional Service Award” for his tenure in public service as a political appointee in the U.S. Treasury Department working for Treasury Secretaries Lloyd Bentsen and Robert Rubin. He also served as a consultant in the Strategy Group at Mercer Management Consulting. Ben received a “Ford Fellowship” to attend business school for his work in truck operations at Ford Motor Company and worked as a financial analyst in PainWebber’s Transportation Group in New York and Tokyo. Ben started his career as a salmon fly-fishing guide in Alaska.
