Gray Stephens

EXPERIENCE

Gray Stephens joined Bain Capital in 2018. He is a Senior Vice President and Head of Fund Tax for the Real Estate business. He also manages fund tax matters for Bain Capital’s ‘40 Act funds.

Prior to joining Bain Capital, Gray worked in EY’s tax practice, focusing on tax and transactional matters for private equity funds and multinational companies. Previously, he worked with Ropes & Gray LLP as a tax attorney representing institutional investors in private real estate fund investments, REIT joint ventures, and other transactions.
 

EDUCATION

Gray received his JD, cum laude, from The University of North Carolina School of Law.  He received his MA in accounting and BS in business administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
