John Samela

EXPERIENCE

John Samela joined Bain Capital in 2025. He is a Director on the real estate team, where he leads asset management for the distribution and storage sector.

Prior to joining Bain Capital, John was a Portfolio Manager at Madison International, where he oversaw portfolio and asset management for a diversified real estate private equity portfolio. Prior to that, he led asset management for Greystar’s east coast value-add investment portfolio, consisting of more than 80 assets. John spent much of his early career at J.P. Morgan and later served on the acquisitions team at Landmark Partners (now Ares).

EDUCATION

John received a BA in economics, with a concentration in real estate and urban economics, from the University of Connecticut, Storrs.
