EXPERIENCE

Josh Bekenstein helped found Bain Capital at its inception in 1984. He is currently a Senior Advisory Partner to the firm and served as Co-Chair from 2016 - 2022. During his tenure at Bain Capital, Josh played a leading role in a wide spectrum of prominent consumer and retail businesses in which Bain Capital has made investments.  

Prior to joining Bain Capital, Josh spent several years at Bain & Company where he was involved with companies in a variety of industries.

Josh serves as a board member of several corporations, including Bob’s Discount Furniture Stores, Bombardier Recreational Products, Bright Horizons Family Solutions, Dealer Tire, and Dollarama.  Philanthropically, Josh chairs the board of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and previously served as Senior Fellow on the Yale University Corporation. He is also a member of the boards of the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Environmental Defense Fund, the Pan Mass Challenge, Bridgespan, and the Investment Committee of Yale University.

EDUCATION

Josh graduated from Yale University and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
