Ms. Deftos joined Bain Capital in 2012.  She is a Partner and Head of Human Resources for Life Sciences, Double Impact, Tech Opportunities and Real Estate businesses. Ms. Deftos oversees all talent acquisition, leading performance management, and organizational development initiatives to enhance each of the teams’ professional capabilities. 

Prior to joining Bain Capital, Ms. Deftos was with Wellington Management Company, LLP in Boston. As a Human Resources Relationship Manager, she partnered with senior business leaders across a variety of functional areas in support of global people-related issues and initiatives. Additionally, she spent two years as the Director of Global Talent Acquisition, with oversight for all firm-wide recruiting activities. Prior to Wellington, Ms. Deftos was with J.P. Morgan in New York, where she held both human resources generalist and recruiting roles.


Education

Ms. Deftos received her AB, cum laude, from Bowdoin College and a Master of Arts in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University Teachers’ College.
