Experience

Merritt joined Bain Capital Ventures in 2018. She focuses on growth equity investments across sectors and contributes to all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, due diligence, transaction execution, and portfolio company support.

Prior to joining Bain Capital Ventures, Merritt was an investor focused on late-stage venture and growth equity investments at Goldman Sachs. She was involved with Goldman’s investment in Ring, the smart video doorbell company with a mission to make neighborhoods safer. Previously, Merritt was an investor at private equity firm New Mountain Capital and a management consultant at Bain & Company in New York.  

Merritt grew up in Chicago and remains a Midwesterner at heart. Outside of work, she can be found traveling to new destinations, exploring the New York food scene, reading biographies, watching (and attempting to play) tennis, and tending to her indoor (one day outdoor!) garden.


Education

Merritt graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree, cum laude, and from Harvard Business School, where she was a Baker Scholar. At Princeton, Merritt served as President of Princeton Women in Business. At HBS, Merritt was involved with the newly formed Women in Investing student group and helped to organize the first summit for alumnae of the school. Merritt is also a CFA charterholder
