EXPERIENCE

Tomoharu Hirayama joined Bain Capital in 2021. He is an Operating Partner in the Portfolio Group and a member of the Asia Pacific Private Equity team.

Prior to joining Bain Capital, Tomoharu worked at McKinsey & Company in their Tokyo office as a Partner, working on a wide range of topics including company-wide transformation, mid-term strategy development, customer engagement, data driven management, and store operation for the retail industry. He was also a leader of McKinsey Analytics in Japan, leading the launch of QuantumBlack in the Tokyo office. Prior to joining McKinsey & Company, Tomoharu worked as a marketing planner and account executive for Dentsu.

EDUCATION

Tomoharu earned his MBA from Columbia University with Dean‘s Honors and Distinction and his bachelors of engineering from the University of Tokyo.
