EXPERIENCE

Dr. Zhenyu Zhang initially joined Bain Capital in 2012 and then rejoined the firm in 2021. He is a Managing Director in the Portfolio Group and a member of the Asia Pacific Private Equity team.

Prior to rejoining Bain Capital, Zhenyu served as the Global CEO of Gymboree’s Education Business. Previously, he was with Bain & Company and Roland Berger where he consulted for industrial, consumer, and retail clients on strategy, performance improvement, and organization across the globe.

EDUCATION

Zhenyu holds a PhD from MIT in mechanical engineering and operations management. He also received an MS and a BS in mechanical engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China
