In February, 20 Bain Capital employees joined business leaders from across the country to review hundreds of applications from women-led startups for the Project Entrepreneur Venture Competition.
Project Entrepreneur is an initiative of Bain Capital Ventures’ portfolio company Rent the Runway. First launched in 2015 by Rent the Runway co-founders Jennifer Hyman and Jenny Fleiss, in partnership with UBS, Project Entrepreneur asks women founders at the helm of early-stage startups across the United States to apply to be a part of a cohort of 200 entrepreneurs and for the opportunity to win a $10,000 grant and a spot in a 5-week accelerator program hosted by Rent the Runway.
Project Entrepreneur seeks to ignite bold ideas by providing women entrepreneurs with access to the tools, training and networks needed to build scalable, economically impactful companies. Women start companies at a rate of 1.5 times the national average but account for less than 10 percent of founders at high-growth firms. Project Entrepreneur hopes to break down the barriers in women’s paths and democratize the knowledge and resources necessary to build impactful ventures.
We’re proud to partner with the Project Entrepreneur team as they support new women-owned businesses, and you can learn more by visiting the Project Entrepreneur website.
