Bain Capital Places Third in 2019 Courageous Sailing Corporate Cup

In Boston during the month of June, Courageous Sailing held its Corporate Cup race series each Monday night.  Bain Capital Community Partnership and teams from other companies around the city participated in the racing to benefit Courageous Sailing and area youth.

The Bain Capital Community Partnership team of Tucker Blagden and Elizabeth Dudley placed third this year, bested by 3EDGE Asset Management and Boston BoatWorks.

Courageous Sailing seeks to transform lives through sailing programs that inspire learning, personal growth and leadership.  The nonprofit uses sailing as a platform for lifelong learning and growth and is committed to removing barriers to access for youth and people with physical and intellectual challenges.

Courageous Sailing was established in 1987 as a 501(c)(3) by the late South Boston sailing enthusiast Harry McDonough. It was Harry's dream to use sailing to build character and camaraderie among Boston children from all backgrounds. In Harry's words, "Every child's perspective is improved 50-yards off-shore."

Today, Courageous Sailing is a nationally recognized year-round educational center for community sailing and youth development offering youth in the Boston area free or low-cost programs in sailing, environmental education, job skills development, and leadership. In 2011 Courageous Sailing was honored to be named one of the top-10 community sailing programs nationwide by both US Sailing and Sail Magazine.

Thanks to all who participated, 140 kids will sail for free this summer and will have the opportunity to experience the pure joy of being out on the water.  Check out their new video, here
