Bain Capital Sends Gifts to Rosie's Place

Bain Capital's Boston office continued its long-standing support of Rosie's Place, the first women's shelter in the United States, by once again participating in a holiday gift drive. The toys collected from the drive were donated to Rosie's Place, enabling women who utilize the shelter to wrap and provide gifts to their children at the holidays.

"Children from 25 families will wake up to a new toy or game thanks to everyone's generosity," said Bain Capital ‎Global Events Manager Maureen Berardi, who coordinated the gift collection. "It's gratifying to know that your gift will help bring families together over the holidays."

This year, Bain Capital committed to providing 153 gifts for children from 25 families as well as a board game for each of the families to use together.

The mission of Rosie's Place is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for poor and homeless women to maintain their dignity, seek opportunity and find security in their lives.  Rosie's Place was founded in 1974 as the first women-only shelter.  Since then, the organization has evolved from providing meals and shelter to a multi-service agency that works to create answers for 12,000 women a year through wide-ranging support, housing and education services.
