Bain Capital Ventures hosts City Year San Jose in the San Francisco Office

On Friday, May 4, Bain Capital Ventures hosted the Bain Capital-sponsored City Year San Jose team at their office in San Francisco for a resume-building workshop. 7 AmeriCorps members and 3 City Year development staff members from Arbuckle Elementary were in attendance.

Bain Capital Ventures chartered a Sprinter van and driver to transport the AmeriCorps members from the Arbuckle campus in San Jose to the Bain Capital office in San Francisco. On the bus, each AmeriCorps member received a goodie bag of pre-breakfast treats for the 75-minute commute to the office, where they were greeted by Bain Capital Ventures and with a catered breakfast from SoMa Eats.

Following welcome remarks, each AmeriCorps member rotated through 5 stations designed to help them with their resumes and job search: Interview Prep, Resume Workshop/Editing, Crafting Your Narrative, Leveraging and Expanding Your Network, and Mock Interviews.

Afterwards, they shared the highlights of what they learned, and in turn, we asked for feedback for how we can improve this session for next year.  The AmeriCorps members also shared their morning ritual with the Bain Capital Ventures team before their long days of service at Arbuckle.  After a few photos and Boomerangs on the deck with the Bay Bridge in the background, they were given Bain Capital Patagonia cross-body bags filled with even more Bain Capital swag as farewell gifts.
