I am excited to be participating again in the Lupus Research Alliance New York City Walk with Us to Cure Lupus on Saturday, October 12, 2019 with my team!
Each year, the Lupus Research Alliance coordinates this powerful fundraising program where friends, family and colleagues come together in cities across the country for a 5K walkathon to raise awareness and funds for lupus research.
Lupus is a painful autoimmune disease that affects millions worldwide. This disease is more common than leukemia, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and cystic fibrosis. Lupus can cause a plethora of ailments including kidney failure, heart disease, high blood pressure, vascular problems, and even premature death. Unfortunately, lupus presents many complexities and barriers that have prevented scientists from finding a cure. Because no two cases are exactly the same and its symptoms mimic those of other diseases, the exact cause of lupus is unknown and it is very difficult to diagnose.
But, there is hope. The Lupus Research Alliance leads the quest to free the world of this autoimmune disease through the power of scientific research. The Lupus Research Alliance has committed $200 million to lupus research, making it the largest private funder of lupus research in the world.
We couldn't be more proud to be supporting this amazing organization and participating in our 14th walk with the Lupus Research Alliance Walk with Us program. If you're interested in joining the quest to find a cure, help our team reach our fundraising goal! Click here to make your donation.
Whatever you give will go a long way! Since the Lupus Research Alliance Board of Directors covers all fundraising and administrative costs, 100% of your gift will be used to support the most innovative and promising lupus research programs.
The love and continued support from all the great people that I am so fortunate to be surrounded by daily, really makes all the difference and is so very much appreciated.
Thank you! Your support will bring hope to the millions of people worldwide who are suffering from lupus including me.
