Liam's Lucky Charms rides in Bike MS and tops the $1.6M mark in total fundraising with more than $350,000 raised this year Bain Capital employees Raman Yiu, Liam Kennedy and Mihaela Dumea just before starting the ride

On June 27 and 28, 12 Bain Capital employees joined more than 2,000 riders in the 150-mile journey from Boston to Provincetown for the 31st Annual Bike MS: Cape Cod Getaway 2015. For the eighth straight year, the Bain Capital team supported Liam’s Lucky Charms to raise funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society of America. Liam’s Lucky Charms was founded by Bain Capital Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller Liam Kennedy, and was this year’s top fundraising team, raising more than $350,000.

Beginning on the morning of Saturday, June 27, the riders pedaled from Boston through the coastal towns of Massachusetts’ South Shore to the edge of Cape Cod. Unfortunately, due to extreme weather conditions the second leg of the ride was cancelled.

“Thank you to all of the riders, volunteers, sponsors and donors who supported the Liam’s Lucky Charms team,” said Liam. “This year we have raised more than $350,000 to help create a world free of MS.”

Since its inaugural year, Liam’s Lucky Charms has raised more than $1.6 million and has gone from 15 participants to more than 150.

Leading up to this year’s ride, more than 50 Bain Capital employees participated in fundraisers to support the Liam’s Lucky Charms team. On May 30, the 6th Annual MS Cornhole for a Cause Event was held at the Boston Athletic Club. More than 160 people participated, including 30 Bain Capital employees, helping to raise approximately $4,500 to support Liam’s Lucky Charms and the National MS Society. Liam and his cornhole partner took home the first place trophy in dramatic fashion with full crowd support behind them.
