On December 11, parts of Kentucky experienced the most devastating series of tornadoes in the state's history. Four tornadoes touched down in the state with one staying on the ground for over 200 miles. 77 people were killed and the tornadoes caused serious damage to many communities. The recovery is expected to be slow.

In response to this urgent disaster, Bain Capital is committing $50,000 from the Bain Capital Relief Fund to support two organizations providing immediate relief and assisting in the rebuilding of the impacted communities: Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund, an emergency fund set up by Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, and World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit focused on providing food in the wake of disasters.

Since creating the Bain Capital Relief Fund in 2017, the firm has donated more than $1.25 million in response to over 20 disasters.  These funds build on our partners' significant history of giving to support individuals affected by Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy, Fukushima, the Boston Marathon bombing and numerous other crises.
