Bain Capital Healthcare Healthcare Services
As the largest urgent care provider
in the Northeast, ConvenientMD
offers access to high quality,
affordable care for the patients
and communities that they serve.
In addition continued growth of
their core urgent care footprint,
the company saw opportunity to
expand into new service lines,
including building out telehealth
capabilities and advanced primary
care services. This new care model
provides patients a cohesive, high
touch experience and improves
their access to preventative care.
ConvenientMD has partnered with
Double Impact to help them scale
their core urgent care business
as well as launch primary care.
The team is able to leverage deep
experience in multi-site healthcare
as well as the Firm’s breadth of
overall healthcare expertise to
support and drive the company
through its next phase of growth.
Excelsia Injury Care is a leading
provider of care to those injured
in auto or workplace accidents.
Excelsia delivers peace of mind
to patients by delivering the full
continuum of care they need under
one roof, while freeing patients of
financial stress with Excelsia’s deep
expertise in navigating auto and
workers compensation insurance
reimbursement. Excelsia’s robust
care model is medically managed,
with 10 different specialties
across Orthopaedic, Diagnostic,
Interventional, and Rehabilitation
services. Excelsia has partnered
with Double Impact to scale this
unique business model. The team
has leveraged the Firm’s deep multi-
site experience to enable growth
through both M&A in new markets
as well as organic expansion of
clinics.
Improving patient access to
healthcare services was the key
driver behind the acquisition of
HealthDrive, which provides skilled
nursing facilities with on-site
physician services in the specialty
areas of primary care, podiatry,
dentistry, audiology, optometry
and behavioral health. Providing
services on-site and at regular
intervals vastly improves adherence
to recommended preventative
treatment plans, which have
been shown to improve quality
of life and reduce potentially
devastating conditions such as
pneumonia or accidental falls.
Double Impact supported the
growth of the business with the
add-on acquisitions of New England
Geriatrics and ProHealth. “We
were able to identify new service
lines that HealthDrive’s customers
were demanding and closed two
meaningful add-on acquisitions
that created financial value during
our ownership period,” said Klaus
Koenigshauen, Partner at Double
Impact. In 2023, HealthDrive was
sold to Cressey & Co.
