International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP)

Founded in part by Ropes & Gray, the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) is the leading legal services organization helping refugees. They organize law students and lawyers to develop and enforce a set of legal and human rights for refugees and displaced persons. Mobilizing direct legal aid, litigation, and systemic advocacy, IRAP serves the world’s most persecuted individuals and empowers the next generation of human rights leaders.

International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP)

IRAP received a grant from the Bain Capital Relief Fund in October 2021 as violence in Afghanistan was worsening and spreading, causing even more human suffering and displacement than what had been experienced in the 40 years prior from conflict, natural disasters, chronic poverty, food insecurity and COVID-19. IRAP staff was working around the clock to respond to urgent requests for assistance and information for Afghanistan refugees.
