Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund
Governor Beshear established the Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund to assist those impacted by the tornados and the severe weather system that occurred overnight on December 10, 2021.
Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund received a grant from the Bain Capital Relief Fund in December 2021 after parts of Kentucky experienced the most devastating tornado event in the state’s history. The tornadoes mangled many communities beyond recognition and the recovery is expected to be slow. The challenges are compounded by what was a very challenging year for Kentucky due to a powerful ice storm in February, a flash flood in July, and in August, the worst coronavirus spike the state had seen.
