Responsible Business Snapshots: Bain Capital Ventures
High-tech baby gear company 4moms’ motto is “Believe in Better,” and this philosophy applies to its corporate responsibility and philanthropy work too. Its 4moms Cares program dramatically impacts the lives of children and families through meaningful product donations, hospital partnerships and supporting its local community.
4moms makes direct product donations to families in need and the nonprofits that serve them. One mom in Texas, for example, reached out to 4moms after losing everything in an apartment fire. 4moms Cares quickly responded and donated products that offered her newborn a safe place to sleep and her toddler a safe play space.
Beyond donating directly to families, 4moms Cares offers product donations and cause-marketing support to larger, non-profit organizations like the GOOD+ Foundation, which provides low-income families with donated goods and transformational services, and Operation Shower, which throws baby showers for families facing military deployments.
4moms Cares also has strong partnerships with more than 300 hospitals that use the mamaRoo infant seat, a seat that soothes babies with a natural bouncing and swaying motion. Maternity wards, NICUs, and pediatric units across the U.S. are offered a discount on the mamaRoo, and doctors and nurses have found it transformational in caring for preemies and babies with severe conditions such as Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome. Additionally, 4moms Cares donates mamaRoos to NICU graduates, making the transition from hospital to home as seamless as possible.
Lastly, the 4moms Cares team supports local initiatives through their volunteer efforts. From robotics camps at 4moms headquarters, to food and toy drives; 4moms employees take a hands-on approach to making a difference in their community. The company’s engineers lead robotics camps for kids, supporting the importance of STEM education, and team members donate time to hospitals and nonprofits to assemble product donations on-site.
4moms’ commitment to its community and to providing products to the families that need them most directly impact the quality of life for families in a meaningful way. As a result, the 4moms Cares program has created 4moms advocates throughout the U.S.
