Michaels donated $1 million worth of fabric – enough to make about 750,000 pieces – to organizations making protective masks for first responders, hospitals and essential workers in order to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Building on this donation, the company has committed about 5,000 face masks to hospitals in Texas and the Northeastern States.

Michaels provided an instructional video and templates to help create face shields and masks with products like acetate sheets, elastic, polyurethane foam strips, fabric and other supplies.
Michaels is the largest arts and crafts retail chain in the U.S. and Canada, with more than 1,250 stores. The company also owns other brands catering to hobbyists and do-it-yourself home decorators providing them with arts, crafts, framing, floral, home décor, and seasonal merchandise.
