Contributed $1 million worth of fabric—enough to create 750,000 masks—to more than 70 organizations supplying front line workers

Creativity Becomes “Essential” in a Crisis

Michaels donated $1 million worth of fabric – enough to make about 750,000 pieces – to organizations making protective masks for first responders, hospitals and essential workers in order to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Building on this donation, the company has committed about 5,000 face masks to hospitals in Texas and the Northeastern States.

DIY saves the day when retailers are closed

Michaels provided an instructional video and templates to help create face shields and masks with products like acetate sheets, elastic, polyurethane foam strips, fabric and other supplies.
